Front Entrance Stonework and Walkway in Scituate

See how our team turned a tired front entrance into a refined stone and planting feature for this South Shore home.

Challenge

This Scituate home needed a front entrance that matched the quality of the rest of the property. The existing steps and walkway felt dated and gave the house very little curb appeal. The homeowners wanted a new stone entrance, a walkway that tied the whole approach together, and an outdoor space they could actually use, all while keeping the character of the neighborhood intact.

Solution

Our team designed and built a full stone transformation for the front of the property. We set blue stone treads with New England fieldstone veneer on the front steps for a natural, layered look, then ran a blue stone walkway from the driveway to the entry. Cobble borders were added along the walkway to frame the stonework cleanly, and we built a patio space finished with an irregular granite firepit for evening gatherings. New plantings and landscape lighting were added throughout the project to soften the stonework and highlight the entrance after dark.

Result

The new entrance gives this Scituate home a front approach that feels custom built and welcoming. The blue stone and fieldstone steps, paired with the cobble bordered walkway, create one cohesive look from the driveway to the front door. The patio and firepit add a functional outdoor living space the family did not have before, and the new plantings and lighting round out the finished look during the day and after dark.

This project shows what is possible when stonework, planting, and lighting are planned together as one project instead of handled as separate pieces. A front entrance that once felt like an afterthought is now one of the best features of the property, done right the first time by our team.
